Meet Sadie

Long time, No post.

Life is busy for us, we moved into our new house and that has completely taken over our lives.

Now that all our furniture has been purchased, curtains up and all settled. I can now blog a bit more.

This post is a short one. On Christmas eve, Camille got a beautiful Golden Retriever from Santa. She is now nearly 4 months old and her name is Sadie. She is sweet, soft and so fun.

We went to the coast this last weekend and Sadie fell in love with the ocean and the birds most of all.

Here are some pictures of that trip:

Still Stressed. More Paris pictures.

Cafe near the Porte de Clingacourt flea market.

Still waiting on the appraisal. If all goes well with that then we should close on the house soon. Tomorrow we are having a big moving sale...

But here are more heavenly Paris pictures... Ahhh.. If only I could be transported there now!!

Right outside the apartment that we rented. Segeur stop on Metro. Note how close the Eiffel tower is? Our apt. was so close.

Palais Royale Cafe`. Our favorite. Right behind the Louvre.
The waiter brought Camille her chocolate gelato with sparklers and ribbons.

Dusk. Looking towards the Palais du Justice.

Remembering Europe

Westminster Abbey, London. March 2007

So, This house buying is extremely stressful. I will be really glad when it is all over with. I am a stress case right now and so in an effort to combat this I am reading travel books ( always a stress reliever for me) and looking at my photos of my March trip to Europe.

I am posting some of my Europe trip photos again as some of our friends have never had a chance to see them. So enjoy!

Little house. Our new house!

Well!!! We are officially "In Escrow" doesn't that sound scary exciting???

Last Wednesday we were approved for a really great loan and exactly a week later we found a house!

Our house is cute. small. HUGE lot. Fenced back yard. Across the street from a beautiful park. And in a really cool area! The house is in an area that we have always wanted to be in but thought that we were priced out! Yay! We found the last great priced starter in University Park!

We are due to close on December 28th but now I want to move it up to December 21st. With the holiday 4 day weekend, we would have more time to move! How crazy exciting is this??

I guess now I must go on the great box search and start packing! I cannot even imagine how many boxes we will need for the tools downstairs!

I will swing by and take pictures today and post soon.

Wish us luck!

Ahhh.. Organization!

Today has been one of those stay - at - home - wait - for - UPS - Guy - days! So I decided to seize this rare opportunity and go through my big container of papers, put them into categories and place them in nice little binders. This project was big and took 2 hours but it's all done and I feel so damn organized and relieved now to not have this project hanging over my head any longer!

This last weekend of ours was so great! We did loads of errands, went to Wordstock to see Laini read her book, Finally got to meet the incredibly pretty and sweet Alexandra! and ate lots of yummy meals out, dessert at PIX ,etc, etc.

This was our last weekend with Dave.. well.... for awhile at least.... he is starting a HUGE side job; one he has been waiting for since August....the big bonus of working this, besides the money, is that the job is on 23rd and Tillamook...11 blocks from our house! yay! The drawback? ALL the work is outside work...Can you say rain gear???? But! We actually will be able to walk the dog and see him from time- to- time! I think that this job will take him 3 months or more so it's a big deal! I am really glad that we took lots of beach trips together these last few months!

My new endeavor is crock pot cooking! For the winter months it is great for low fat yummy food. I just love not worrying about getting dinner ready and with all the great fall vegetables at the farmers markets, you can fix stews and soups super easy! Actually Coq au Vin is fabulous in the crock! yummm....

Well, that is all the news for now!

Tide Pools

This last weekend was spent at Lincoln City. Lincoln City is fast becoming our favorite beach. We always stay in a lovely little dog- friendly hotel south of Lincoln City in the Taft district.

Lincoln City is very relaxed and has the most amazing tide pools, they far surpass the tide pools of Cannon Beach. We spent the whole weekend beach-combing for shells, agates and crabs. It was so fun.

The weather was amazing! I think that this was probably the last sunny beach weekend till Spring! I am so glad that we decided to go!

Here's some pictures......

Charlie Brown Great Pumpkin Express.

On Sunday we all traveled out to Hood River to take Camille on the Mt. Hood Railroad Peanuts Great pumpkin express.
It was a beautiful sunny day, nice and arm and not windy. Perfect day.
The train ride was 1 -1/2 hours each way out to the pumpkin patch. For some reason I had not even considered the idea that this train obviously would be full of kids and therefore really loud!!!!! I cannot even describe the chaos on that train... OH My!!! The screaming, whining, running... generally really nerve shattering... ugh.. I love my child but for the most part just cannot deal with other people's kids. yikes! They are miserable little creatures at times! :)

But ....Despite the headaches that Dave & I acquired, we had so much fun and Camille was thrilled with the whole day!

She participated in the Halloween costume contest and she won first place! So exciting for her! She was dressed as a skunk. Very cute. She won a stuffed Wizard snoopy and chocolates!

After the train ride, we were dropped back in Hood River and off we went to explore the Hood River Fruit loop.

Of course, we stopped at Cascade Alpacas to pet the cute alpacas and check out all the beautiful yarn, then we went to Rasmussen farms Pumpkin funland.. (I remember this as a kid) ,ate caramel apples (the best ever!), tasted loads of pears and apples... well, more apples for me as I hate pears, and of course we loaded up on a bag of yummy heirloom apples for a pie and off we went into Hood River city center to grab some dinner and drive back home.

All- in- all, it was a beautiful, relaxing day away from Portland.

Now Camille is getting ready for Halloween night.. lots of interesting trick- or- treat options around town, trying to decide what to do that is not too overly scary! We shall see...

That's all the news for now!
