I love garage sales. Well, estate sales to be exact and Portland has the best! But! There is something that I like even better than a good Portland estate sale and that is a good vegetable curry samosa! Now, what do these two things possible have in common? Well....... this last weekend our Portland neighborhood of Irvington had a huge neighborhood wide garage sale and one fabulous sale in particular was offering samosas and chai while you shopped! what could be better than this?! So, Camille, Chico and I walked for blocks to find this sale, following all the signs till finally we found the sale and they were closed but apparently we looked so desperate for a samosa that they went and brought us out some more! Oh my goodness were they fabulous! Camille even devoured them! They came with a yummy sweet tamarind sauce on them.. yummm....
So, That was the main excitement of our weekend. We went to the zoo on Sunday. It was cold, rainy, blustery and fabulous! Camille & I only like going to the zoo when the weather is like this and all the animals were out and all active. and the best part- no crowds!
Dave is still working the weekends. He had a 2 week lull and now he is getting calls constantly! Great! Right now he is working on the most amazing victorian in NW Portland; it's on a short one - way street with 5 victorians on each side. So charming. There are some amazing houses in this city. No end to the remodeler's work!
Camille's cold has relapsed and she is coughing again! I am trying to keep her resting today and warm as I want her to not have this turn into something way worse! So, it's quiet time with movies, kleenex, popsicles and juice.. and Chico asleep at her side! While she sleeps in the day I am getting lots of Goodwill stuff gathered together and lots of stuff thrown out and recycled. feels good to get all the needless stuff out of here!
